How It Works

Universal Housing — What Makes It Different

The WPW series uses a symmetrical housing design with oil fill points and breathers on multiple faces, allowing full lubrication in any mounting orientation.

Symmetrical housing design

The WPW housing is designed symmetrically with oil fill plugs, drain plugs, and breather vents on all four sides. The correct plug combination is selected at order based on the specified mounting orientation.

Same internal worm assembly

All WPW models use the same 20CrMnTi worm shaft (HRC 58–62) and ZCuSn10Pb1 bronze worm wheel as the P-type WPA and D-type WPDA. Performance data is identical regardless of mounting orientation.

Oil fill adjusted per orientation

Oil quantity and fill point differ by orientation. EVER-POWER ships the unit pre-filled for the specified orientation. When orientation changes in the field, the oil must be re-filled to the correct level for the new orientation.

Double-stage variant (WPWDK)

The WPWDK series adds a second worm stage inside the same universal housing. Combined ratios of 1:200 to 1:3,600 and torques up to 13,560 N·m — the highest in the WP series — in a multi-position housing.

P-type (WPA, WPDA…) and D-type are optimised for specific orientations (foot mount or IEC flange). The WPW universal housing is symmetrical and includes oil plugs on all four sides, allowing any orientation. The internal worm shaft and bronze wheel assembly is identical to P-type and D-type WP models of the same size.

04 Can I change the mounting orientation after installation? +

Yes, but the oil must be re-filled to the correct level for the new orientation. EVER-POWER provides orientation-specific oil fill quantities for all WPW sizes. The housing does not need to be modified — only the active oil plug positions and fill quantity change.
